You can install this entire website by doing the following steps:
Step One : Read all the instructios before you do anything else, so you know what you are letting yourself in for.
Step Two : Download the zip file from PROJECTS page.
Step Three : Open the zip file you have just downloaded in Winzip or equivalent decompression software.
Step Four : Extract the project file from the zip file to your dektop.
Step Five : Open the file. You will see the subfolders and files attached below. Pic1 (Since the picture shows the files of the E-Blog Classic V 1.0, your files may be different.)
Step Six : Logon your hosting account and go to root directory using FTP protochol. (You may contact with your hosting company for technical information about the root directory and any other details.)
Step Seven : Simply copy and past all the folders and files to your root directory.
Step Eight : Normally, all the folders have only READ permission. READ permission is required to access a folder/file. We must give also WRITE permission some specific folders. This is important because web-application/project may need access to write to files to enable certain functions.
Step Nine : Select App_Data, images and MemberPic folders using admin/control panel of the hosting account, then give READ and WRITE permission to these folders.
Step Ten : When you change the permission of a file, it does not effect the files located in that folder. You must put the files into that folder after changing the permission. It is especially important for database (ProjectDB.mdb) located in the App_Data folder. For this reason, you should put ProjectDB.mdb into the App_Data folder after giving permission.
- Now that you copied all the files to your hosting account directory and specified neccessary folder/file permissions, you can go to your web-address to see your web-application/project.
